The LHM 110D Shelter Handling System includes 4 independent Mobile Jack Assemblies which are installed into the four comers of an ISO Container or Tactical Shelter to provide for:
Stabilization and leveling
Loading and unloading of road vehicles
Slow speed travel on roads, runways or paved areas
C -1 30 aircraft loading

All four jack assemblies are interchangeable. Each wheel assembly includes an 18x7 solid rubber tire and four shock absorbers. Each wheel is free to caster or can be locked into a fixed position. Total installation time onto a shelter is 25 minutes with a crew of 4 people. Each system includes a tool kit with all tools required for installation.
An auxiliary towbar is connected between the two front jack assemblies to provide for steering and towing by a suitable tow vehicle. In this case, a coupling bar is attached between the rear units to lock out their steering capability.
The first LHM 110D system utilized on a US Military program was fielded in 2003. A new video presentation showing LHM 110D features, and installation and operation instructions, is available upon request.
With its lift height of 70 inches, the system is ideal for loading/unloading containers and shelters to/from other trucks or trailers.
The LHM 110D system has been certified by a European NATO military agency for container and shelter handling from -33° C to +55° C, and for loading onto C-130 and C-160 aircraft.

Once installed, the four jack assemblies can be rotated around the container's end corner castings to move them outboard of the container (for truck loading or to place containers close together end-for-end), or inboard close to the ends of the container (for transport or aircraft loading). When in the folded position, the jack assemblies only protrude 17 inches from the end wall of the container.
The lifting jacks are manually raised by means of a telescopic ballscrew jack assembly (two ballscrew shafts with helical gear control) located inside each support tube, operated by a hand cranking mechanism. Each jack is fitted with a brake assembly to prohibit the jack from falling unintentionally. Two jacks on each end of the shelter can be connected together with extension bars to permit level lifting of the shelter with two operators.
Each jack assembly (weight=300 pounds) can be manually fitted into the corner castings or installed with the help of any available handling equipment. Alternately, a specially designed 55 pound Support Beam can be supplied which attaches to the shelter and lifts, by means of its built-in hoist, the jack assembly into position. One Support beam can be used to install all four jack assemblies to the shelter.
An Electric Motorization Kit is available to provide powered shelter lifting (in lieu of manual jacking) from a customer supplied electrical power source. Alternately a small mobile generator can be supplied.
If shelter mobility is not required, each jack can be fitted with optional Fixed Jack Stanchions in lieu of wheels to provide additional stability for fixed vehicle loading/unloading.
For Off-Road Mobility, additional Stabilization Bars are available to provide additional rigidity to the jack system to enhance system performance. The wheel assemblies can also be installed directly into the bottom of the lower corner castings of an ISO shelter or container for mobility without lifting capability.
C130 Aircraft Shelter Tiedown Rails - These rails, when mounted to the sides of a tactical shelter, permit locking of the shelter into the C130 aircraft's dual rail system for transport (without adding unnecessary height).
